Agentic AI & Autonomous Agents
Build AI agents that use tools, plan tasks, and execute multi-step workflows autonomously. What are AI Agents? AI agents are systems where LLMs take actions beyond generating text. They can use tools (APIs, databases, calculators), plan multi-step tasks, maintain state across interactions, and adapt based on feedback. Agentic AI represents a shift from "chat" to "do" — the model doesn't just respond, it acts. Tool Use Tools extend what the LLM can do: search the web, query databases, run code, call APIs, send emails. Define tools with JSON schema: name, description, parameters. The model decides when to use tools. LangChain, AutoGen, and Assistants API provide agent frameworks. Start with 3-5 well-defined tools, expand as needed. Planning & Execution ReAct pattern: Thought → Action → Observation → Repeat. The model thinks about what to do, takes an action, observes the result, and decides next step. Plan-ahead: generate a complete plan first, then execute step by step. Tree-of-thought: explore multiple paths simultaneously. Self-reflection: review past actions and adjust strategy.
